Historical significance of Kedartal-

Located at 10,055 ft (3,064 m)
It takes a long drive of 10 – 12 hours from Dehradun.
The base camp is at Gangotri. Dharali is regarded as the staying point, where home stays, guest houses and lodges are found.
Dharali is a fairy tale like small town, and is the home for the historical sages that attained salvation.
The contracted pathways, thick meadows, tantalize the travelers, and the weather entices us with freezing cold winds. The ambiance is soaked with brilliance, splendor and admiration.
The best time to on look at the pilgrimage is during May and June where thousand of sacred mystics gather and worship.
Bright awake in the daylight of a spiritually cultured land, surrounded with learned, widely read, knowledgeable sacred gurus, and the spectators seeking peace. Today is the day of relaxation and self care.
Altitude: From 10,055 ft (3,064 m) Trek to 12,772 ft (3,893 m).
It takes around 5-6 hours for 9 kms. The trek varies from moderate to difficult, with the steep ascent and have rock-strewn terrains along the pathway. Water availability is present almost everywhere, but carrying bottles filled with water is advisable.
Due to the scarcity of humans on the way, food and lights snacks are advised to be kept with you. Washrooms are built for the comfort of the people.
Bhairav ghati bridge is an another major attraction, and leads to Bhoj Kharak trail.
While walking around 180 meters, the sharp descent to the dense forest track to Bhoj Kharak is seen. The trek sharply ascends to the rocky terrains.
You may feel breathless but you soon would get adjusted to the climatic changes, make sure that your bag is easy to carry. Kedar ganga roars, and rumbles, and attracts the tourists because of its wrath. The climb is inexorable and unstoppable, the paths cannot be altered.
The birch or the bhoj trees, after one hour of climbing, gives us a blur impression of paper like appearance, and the leaves were believed to be used as the medium of writing texts. They are good insulators from cold.
Four hours and you transpire out of the meadows, and walk through the spider wall or narrow pathways, and make sure that you don’t look down to save yourself from the fright. The walk for one more time, for near about fifteen minutes, will reach to the next spider wall.
Amidst the uncultivated land, grasslands grow in their natural habitat, where widened land is difficult to locate, so setting up a tent is something to rave about.
Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak is situated at an altitude of 12,772 ft (3,893 m) to 14,238 ft (4,340 m)
It takes around 3-4 hours, of 4.25 km. The trek covers a total of 4kms in a combination of modern ascents as well as descents.
Trekking to Kedar Khadak which is situated at 14,000 ft, covers 4 km and takes about five
hours. Water is available, but carrying water is worthwhile. After walking for 1km through the campsite at Bhoj Kharak, the background is beyond belief into the meadows. Be careful of the ascent steep. The next 2 kilometeres are the walk of leisure. The weather conditions are inclined towards cold, hoarfrost sheets are seen on the pebbles.
Kedarkharak is the campsite for the day, and the dusks are extravagantly delightful.
You have to trek starting from 14,238 ft (4,340 m) to 15,485 ft (4,720 m) and back to 14,238 ft (4,340 m), covering around 6 hours for 4-5kms. The trail consistently ascends over a stony territory. This makes the trek a difficult certitude. Water supply is entirely deficient in the locale.
The lake engrosses our thoughts and rivet us in incredulity, and compels our hearts to go outlandish.
The trek has to be started as early as possible, because it is the most painstaking day and the trekkers accomplishes the altitude of 16,116 ft with no soul in the sight. The climatic conditions are not usually favorable.
The terrain requires power, vigor, glory, determination and confidence to be punctual. The trail is strenuous and challenging, and needs a cautious walk. Be watchful on the heaps of the stones on the routes.
Make sure that you are walking on the right direction, as the roads are deceptive, and necessitate vigilant stroll. One must not move recklessly.
The prodigious Mt. Thalaysagar peak is foreseem after 5-6hours of trekking, and almost half the kilometre.
Along the descent, we arrive at the pure, untarnished and immaculate rumination of the heavenly lake. Infuse yourself and turn back to the Kedarkharak.
Kedar Kharak to Gangotri is an altitude of 14,238 ft (4,340 m) to 11,204 ft (3,415 m)
